Marriage lookup pre 1837
« on: Friday 01 June 07 12:13 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I am trying to find the marriage of William Roberts b around 1791 in St Donats and Mary ? b around 1798 in Llantwit Major.  I think that William's father was also a William Roberts from St Donats.  I am guessing that they would have married in the bride's parish of Llantwit Major but I do know that they lived in St Donats later on.

Thanks for looking.

This is an extracted record from IGI (so take care!)

William Robert married Mary William 13 May 1820, Llantwit Major.

Thank you for that.  I know that they had a son born around 1828 and maybe others that I haven't found yet so it could be the one.  I don't think there are any records at St Donats that match.  I'll look into it and see what more I can find out.

Thank you for looking for me.  Funny having 2 of the same but 20 odd years apart....More for me to search through.  I guess that's the problem with having common names!

I assume that Llantwit Nth is the same as Llantwit Major?

I may be wrong (it's not unknown :P) but Llantwit Nth could be Llantwit in Neath.

OK thanks.  I didn't realise there was a Llantwit in Neath but thought it odd that 'Major' would be 'Nth', although you never know!!

It looks like the first William and Mary might be the right couple.  Thanks to everyone for looking.
