Yes Bron and Pam. I have given up trying to gain access during Australian day time. Usually get that proxy error. Suggest you try later when they are up  It should work then...........Kris

Just to let you know that I joined the library yesterday on Sunday evening 3 June 2007 (Australian time) with no problems whatsoever. I've already spent 2 hours searching the old Times newspaper, and found quite a few "hits" revealing new family information.

I noticed a few postings back on this thread, another Rootschatter from West Australia also joined, so hopefully, today's recent problem is only a temporary glitch.

To the Rootschatter who first posted the information about the library, I thank you - its a great asset for researchers.

I too use Bracknell library access, I work in Bracknell.

My local lobrary in Surrey does not allow remote access, only available from a Central librayr in Guildford, which is little use to me

I have just, a few minutes ago, joined the Beds Online Library (from Australia) and I am hooked already. Don't think I'll be getting much work done today.

I especially love the way the page can be viewed and the words you are searching are highlighted.
