James Henry HOLGATE
« on: Monday 04 June 07 15:05 BST (UK) »
On the 1881 Census I have a James Henry HOLGATE b.20.7.1880, Southport, LAN resident with grandparents Joseph STRETTON & Ellen WOOLERTON in Clay Cross, DBY.

James' birth cert. records his parents as William HOLGATE, contractor's foreman, & Emma HOLGATE, formerly WOOLLATON.

???Joseph & Ellen had a daughter Emma STRETTON b.1850 LEI.  could she be the mother?

Can't seem to find her or William HOLGATE on the 1881 Census.  Can anyone help ;D

From the 1851 census, it seems Emma was born before Joseph and Ellen's marriage - she's a Wooloton, age 1, b. Whitwick
HO107/2084; Folio 782? 24

but I can't see Joseph and Ellen's marriage to confirm  :-\

For some reason, Emma is Annie in 1881:

And George Attwood is already around  :-X
