Hi Dave,

20 years +/- That's above and beyond, sir.

Appreciate your dedication!

If they didn't record Rhoda in Ellington, there's a good chance they didn't record Mary in either of the Hemmingfords. After Rhoda's birth they disappear until the 1841 census when they re-appear in Waltham Abbey in Essex. Perhaps they just weren't too concerned about that sort of thing.

cheers,
g a r

There were not many baptisms in Ellington. 40 years or so were only a few pages.  They were transcriptions so were really easy to read, but thanks for the sentiments.  Also didn't find the people I was looking for, found others I didn't know about and created more questions than answers.  by the way I didn't notice any Ives in Eynesbury or St. Neots.  this was my first attempt at looking through parish records and found it fascinating.  Looking through books that are 300- 400 years old.  The writing a bit dodgy in places.  Some were just transcripts as the originals were far too delicate to handle.  The astaff were friendly and helpful too, so a good alround experience.  Hope to go again next time I visit my daughter in Ely.
good luck to you in your searches.
Dave

Hi Dave,

Sounds like a great experience. I think I'd be awe-struck reading the register knowing that when it was written my ancestors would have only recently given the vital details.

I do have a pocket of Ives in Brampton, Hunts from around 1798-1825. How they got there I don't know and for most I don't know where they dispersed to.

best of luck in all your searches as well,

Hi

Excuse my intrusion! I noticed the mention of the name BULL and was wondering whether you had any BULLs in Leighton Bromswold?

I have an Elinor Lewin marrying a William Bull there in 1783. I would love to hear from anyone with information on them after this date.

Regards

Emma

Burials in Leighton Bromswold of Eloner Bull on 6 Nov 1810 and of William Bull aged 68 on 23 March 1828

There are two extracted baptisms on the IGI of children of this couple. The first Hannah appears to have been buried on  25 Sept 1791, and the second may be the Hannah aged 55 buried on 26 May 1851

I think for a real push a visit to the RO is needed
