Turley/Walker/Brown
« on: Monday 04 June 07 15:57 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help?  Maybe I am on the wrong board even - so many counties involved in this one!

I have TOM TURLEY WALKER born 1874 in Arley Kidderminster Worcestershire and would like to find more about his parents.

I believe his father was JOHN WALKER born 1849 Alveley Staffordshire - did he marry Esther Brown born c1848 .. if so, where did they marry and where was Ester from?

Thanks.

Hi,

I have your Thomas Turley WALKER in my tree and his Great, Great, Grandfather.

I believe he and four siblings were the children of John WALKER bap. 14 Jan 1849 at Alveley and Esther BROWN who, based on the census, was born in Kinver. Their marriage (FreeBMD March 1/4 1874 Kidderminster) hasn't been found yet in the registers I've been able to search i.e. Wolverley, St Mary's or St George's in Kidderminster.

The above John WALKER bap. 14 Jan 1849 at Alveley was one of eight children of Charles WALKER bap. 26 July 1822 at St. Paul's, Kidderminster and Jane TURLEY born 1823 at Upton on Severn (not proved)

One of the above eight children married into my LLOYD family.
The son of another of the eight children married into my SHELDON tree.

The above Charles WALKER bap. 26 July 1822 was one of four children of Charles WALKER bap. 1 Jan 1789 at Neen Savage and Hannah FINNEY born circa 1787 in Snelston Derbyshire.

The above Charles WALKER bap. 1 Jan 1789 was the son of John WALKER and Ann COLEBATCH who married on 22 Nov 1787 at Neen Savage.

I have over sixty WALKER family members descending from this couple.

Gwynne.
