Intriguing!

Looking at the 1871 census earlier, it says that Linus was born in Llanwen.  This could be Llanwonno which is Pontypridd area.  Having a quick look at the 1881 from the info you've given me, the list is of people in the Llanwonno area.  Could be this is why I have never been able to find him before - his name has disappeared.  The info certainly ties in with him.

Thanks for the info on David and Elizabeth too.  I'll look into it.
