« on: Tuesday 05 June 07 03:39 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find any information about the Greive family of Montrose, Angus. Scotland
I have a John Greive born abt 1664 who married Elizabeth Brown in 1689 . Elizabeth born abt 1668 Montrose, Scotland.  They had 9 children.

A son of theirs married a Janet Philp date unk .
They had a number of children and a daughter, Elizabeth Greive married a Robert Gibson in July 1734.

If some is able to help find anything about this family I would be most grateful.
Thanks to those people I have had help from which has been great and I am trying to fill the missing gaps.

Cheers Annette Ellen :) ;)

Hi Annette,

There is a marriage of a Janet Philp to a William Andrew Greeve on 24 JAN 1734   Dundee, Angus, Scotland.  I don't know if this is the son you mentioned.

The parents John and Elizabeth did have a William Grieve in 1703, one of their 9 children,
I don't know if he had a middle name though.

Montrose does come under the Angus area as does Dundee.  The name Greive or Greeve could be mistranscribed.
