Humpherson
« on: Tuesday 05 June 07 18:08 BST (UK) »
My grandmother Julia (Humpherson) Leese (1860) had a brother Daniel (1856) married to Sally.  Daniel was born in Priors Lee.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Thank you very much for the Census information on Daniel Humpherson.  The first born in my grandmother, Julia (Humpherson) Leese was Daniel.  I had jotted down here that Daniel's daughter was married to a Bennett.  Would there be any information available on Daniel's three children.

any help would be appreciated.

It's harder tracing people after 1901, but the unusual surname is an advantage!

From Free BMD http://freebmd.rootsweb.com

Marriages Dec 1912
   (97%)
BENNETT    James       (spouse HUMPHERSON)
HUMPHERSON    Emily        (spouse BENNETT)
Stoke T. 6b 560

Births Jun 1914   (94%)
BENNETT    Nancy    (mother's maiden name HUMPHERSON)
Stoke T. 6b 617

There are no marriages/deaths on Free BMD for Daniel's sons, but you can search the complete GRO index images free at http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx - it takes a while to work through quarter by quarter, but with a bit of patience you can usually find the info you need.

Good hunting!

I certainly want to thank you for your help.  It is very hard to find information when you are a senior who resides in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I e-mailed my 1st cousin who resides in West Hartford, Connecticut, USA to tell him that I had received some information on our Great Uncle Daniel Humpherson.  I received an e-mail from him, telling me it was his understanding that there was a brother Allan, sister of Nancy.  He also thought Nancy was married to a Gosling.

I guess with this latest information, I will have to dig a little deeper.  It seems there are so many names popping out of nowhere.  I appreciate your help,  I need all the help I can get.      Doris
