 :-\  I forgot to add:

born abt. 1825 per 1870 and 1880 federal census.
died 21 Oct 1871, Georgetown, Monroe County, Iowa, USA

No one can seem to find his obituary, which I find odd, as he was a very important person in his commuity.  He died at the age of 47, of what, no clue, no death record to be found either??  No will, too young to have written one I suppose, his wife had to go to court to file for guardianship of his minor heirs.
He applied for naturalization 28 Nov 1859 and became a citizen of the USA 14 Sep 1863.  Basically, he swore allegiance to the USA and denounced allegiance, of particularly, Victoria Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
On marriage record it supplies only the names of bride and groom, no parents names, and solemsized by a Catholic priest??

That's all I know, thats all I have been able to find   :(

This website gives a different place of birth:
www.celticcousins.net/irishiniowa/stpatricksmonroe.htm

Robert Wallace, City of Balleymena Co.Antrim Ireland, 21 Oct. 1871.

There is a Ballymena in County Antrim but it's nowhere near Co. Leitrim or Ballyshannon.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I  know, I have also seen this.  I also know that there are many, many Robert Wallaces from Ireland since I have bumped into many others also searching.  Like I said, I can only go by his gravestone which his wife had inscribed and she was also from Ireland.
