Drury family in Kent
« on: Saturday 09 June 07 22:57 BST (UK) »
Looking for information on the Drury family, my grandmothers first husband was a Frederick Ernest Charles Drury (1901-1932). All we know is his father was a Mark Drury and worked as a pig dealer.
Any help would gratefully be received.

I can find two born about that time.
Sep qtr 1901 Elham
On the 1901 census there is only one Drury in that district, a 63 old male in the workhouse.

The other one is registered Mar qtr 1902 Canterbury,
so he could have been born in 1901.
On the 1901 census, there's a Mark Drury, born Sussex & living in Chilham, Kent which is not very far from Canterbury.
Possible marriage  Mar qtr Elham 2a 1435
Mark Dury to either
Catherine Matilda FRIEND
or
Minnie Susan SMITH

If you think the Mar qtr Canterbury birth registration sounds right, it would be worth sending for the certificate for the mother's name.

Hope this helps

Betty
