1891, Wilshaw, Lancashire/manchester
« on: Tuesday 07 December 04 19:37 GMT (UK) »
I would be most grateful if anyone could look up the following in the 1891 census

George Wilshaw, son, aged aprox 7

Possibly would have had siblings called Fred and Beattie (not sure what Beatie is short for)

Many Thanks

Fiona

Have you got George in the 1901 ? if so, where and who is he with?

Beattie could be Beatrice, another name for Beatrice is Cis/Sis

Bryant
Researching names BRYANT (Camberwell), PASTERFIELD (Essex and all), RAY (Holborn/Islington areas back to Brentford), POWELL (Glouc & beyond?)
Fletcher (Glouc into Warwickshie into Lancs?), BUCKLEY (Chatham area), Watson (Chatham area).

Hi Bryant, thanks for taking the time to reply, unfortunately all the info I have on this family is through word of mouth and is a sad story.  All I know of George is that he lived in Manchester, had possilby 4 children and died in 1918 in the war (I know where he is buried in France through the cwg but his army records are the ones that were destroyed through the bombings in WW2 so I do not know his DOB).  Two of his children were put into orphanages, one into domestic service and the baby was adopted but commited suicide as a young man.  My Grandfather, Alexander Wilshaw was sent to Styal orphanage and later spent a lot of his life tracking down his family but unfortunately didn't document any of his findings.  So, it's difficult to track george down with so little factual info.  I am waiting for some certificates that I have ordered but can't be sure yet if they relate to this family.

Thanks Fiona
