It's a submission made by an individual rather than as part of the 'controlled extraction' from parish records and will not have been subject to any checks.

Most usually turn out to be  OK but have to be checked against other records.

I wouldn't take it as reliable unless I was able to confirm using other sources.

Oh right, thanks, Gadget - I'd not heard it called that before.

Yes, they're best treated with suspicion, I find!

There's a Samuel Dorrington, b. 1818 at Watton at Stone, Herts on the IGI but it looks nothing like that  :-\

You might be onto something there.  They sound similar, don't they?  Watton, Worting (especially if you adopt a comedy yokel accent ;D)

Now I've said it a few times in my best comedy accent, it can sound like Warting :D

Hi,

The Watton at Stone parish records gives the baptism of Samuel s/o Samuel and Sarah DORRINGTON on 08Mar1818 and the marriage of Samuel DORRINGTON and Sarah OZIER by banns on 17Jun1815 witnessed by John OZIER and Sarah CARTER.

Hope this helps.
