Mason : Tarbert School Teacher
« on: Tuesday 12 June 07 09:11 BST (UK) »
Hello

I am trying to find out if any records have survived for Tarbert Infants School, which was in Pounds Street I believe.  My ancestor Catherine MASON taught there in 1846.  If anyone knows of the whereabouts of any records I would be very grateful to know about them.

Thanks
 ;)

Hi Jazmine

Welcome to Rootchat!  I can't help you with the Tarbert School, but I have Masons from Kerry in my tree also - Maria Mason who married Richard Huggard in 1842 - does this sound to you like there could be a connection?

Hi Jaylay

I know very little about my Mason's!  All I have is Catherine MASON born in 1823 and married Emanuel John HARMAN in 1845 Listowel, Kerry.  Her father was Richard MASON given as a gentleman on her marriage certificate - how truthful that is I have no idea!!

Let me know if this rings any bells.

kind regards ;)

Hi Jazmine

I'm afraid I'm in the same boat as you - minimal information to go on - the only Mason I have is Maria.  Richard Huggard was Church of Ireland or Methodist, and was a solicitor, so it's possible he might have married a 'gentleman's daughter'!  I have a couple of 'gentlemen' in my tree also - weren't they cheeky describing themselves as such!  If I get any more info on Masons I will get in touch and maybe you would so the same?

Thanks
Jaylay
