I discovered that both dad's grandparents were Wesleyan ministers which explained why my grandmother was born in Glasgow + my grandad in Guernsey. It was the Rev Edward Dodds who married Emma Holman.
Have you contacted Oxford Brookes Uni - they have a Wesleyan dept + can find obits + their postings.
Did your Rev Charles send his boys to Kingswood the school near Bath for the sons of Wesleyan Ministers?

If you have Chambers, Bowden, Boynes, Dawson, Dodds, Finch, Garbut, Gibson or  Sanderson they are all Rev's in my family - we must have a connection!
