Trying to trace the Ellison family
« on: Friday 15 June 07 10:38 BST (UK) »
Thomas Ellison was born in Ramsey in 1852 - his first wife was Jemima Cowin.
I would like to know if Thomas Ellison born in 1821 in Ballaugh! was his father and was Philip Ellison his father (born in 1781 Andreas) I would appreciate your help . Thanks.
P.S. Did this family have anything to do with the Steam Packet Company?

Hi,

I think Thomas junior was a baker, so it would appear that you both have found the right family, even though Thomas senior's place of birth changes from one census to another.  Are you able to check if Thomas senior's wife was called Margaret Cannell - all help appreciated, thanks

a hostLer is a stablelab - Ballaugh + Kk Michael are adjacent and if he came from Bishop's desmense at north of Kk Michael might be described as Ballaugh.

There was a Thomas Ellison secretary of IoM SPCo - look it up on www.manxnotebook.com
any thing with a Manx Connection
