MARRIED AT 15

hi folks wonder if any one can help me
 
 i have ann sim born 30/05/1803 & married 15/05/1819
 this makes her not quite 16 is this possible or have i got the wrong
 ann sim , they married at fordyce if this makes a difference

Hi Dottie

At that time I believe the legal minimum for girls to marry was 12 (and boys 14). Various legal acts over the next century or so, brought the legal minimum age in Scotland up to 16 for both parties.

Maybe coincidence but i have Ann Sim who was my Gtx3 grandmothers twin they were born the same day as yours 30th May 1803 - in Banff  ???.

Sorry for the delay in answering but i have been on holiday.
I think we are on the same people as ann had a twin I think her name was margaret but I'm not sure, my mum has all my stuff, I will get it back in the next couple of days & get back to you
