Hi,

You would be able to get the birth records for the kids born after 1855 on Scotlands People..its pay per view but well worth the money. To cut down on search results I would try for Albert first..Biggar was not that big a place.

Good luck

Susan
Flucker, Rutherford, Linton all Newhaven, Leith Scotland
Dixon...North Sheilds and Barrow in Furness

I have looked at all the Browns born in Biggar from 1856-58 and there is no-one with a name close to Albert.

Hi again William

Remember from before that Margaret's surname has a HUGE number of variants! Some of the children's entries as they show on IGI (corresponding entries on SP should be hopefully easy enough to find):

HELEN BROWN   Birth: About 1852 Newton Stewart, Wigtown, Scotland (submitted entry - mother Margaret is down as MCCLUSKY)

JOHN BROWN  Birth: 14 OCT 1858 Wigtown, Wigtown, Scotland (CASKIE)

WILLIAM BROWN  Birth: 16 MAR 1861 Maybole, Ayr, Scotland (CASKIE)

WILLIAM BROWN  Birth: 26 JAN 1864 Kelton, Kirkcudbright, Scotland (CASKIE)

Sadly, as you know, no sign of Joseph b. 1854, and your direct line. Given it's pre official registration, it doesn't look to date as if he was registered or the reg entry has survived.

No idea about Albert  :-\. There are no birth registration post 1855-1860 for someone with that name on SP anywhere in Scotland. Nothing also showing on IGI extra with father Joseph and mother Margaret.

Regards.

Monica
