Hi Drekfen,

Finding out about descendants beyond 1901 is more difficult without corroborating evidence (eg census, 1911 not online yet).

www.freebmd.org.uk shows the general records office (GRO) indexes but isn't complete and is less complete beyond 1912.

The local registration office sites for Cheshire and Lancashire are further ahead in date (www.lancashirebmd.org.uk & www.cheshirebmd.org.uk).

Unless someone has a very unusual name it is difficult to know if you have the right marriage.  Birth registrations after 1912 have the mother's maiden name which makes things slightly easier.  The full images of the GRO indexes are online at http://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx but you will have to search every quarter for every year.  It is time consuming but I've found it worthwhile for some of my family.

It might also be worth a search on www.GenesReunited.co.uk to see if anyone else is researching the same family.

Hope this is of some help,

Jean
