Bebington Street Directories?

Hi,

I'm looking for information re the WINDER family who lived at 34 Gorseyville Road, Bebington.  They may have moved there during the 1930s.  I know that they lived there during WWII because I have a postcard with photo of their house where my uncle visited while on leave from the Medical Corps. 

I'd like to know how long they were there.  Are street directories available?

Will appreciate help with this.

Yes they are street directories, but they will be available in either Bebington Library or Chester Archives.

Thanks Mel for the information.  I've searched FreeBMD and Cheshire BMD for the death dates of the Winders at that address, to no avail.  I thought if I could find the dates of their residence there, I'd have a little more to work with.

the best way to find out how long a family lived at an address,is by using the Cheshire Directories .They are available at Birkenhead library who have the full set so your year should be available.Which obviously you cannot visit I have to go to that library for someone else.Not sure when i can get there though maybe next  week,I can do a tracker search for you if you want.There MIGHT be some 1940's missing because of the war.

I really appreciate your very kind offer.  The names are Elsie Kathleen and John James Winder.  I know that they also had a daughter, but her name is unknown to me.

B.M.& D only give where and when they were registered,you have send for certificates to find out.

Their names did not show on either of them, so I decided to try this approach.

If i look under streets it will only give the head  or the person who is the House holder not the family.So it will show John Winder,if his wife had a trade i might find her under occupations.Do you know if John had an occupation?In the meantime if you find another source i would grateful if you would let me know
