Mira Monica Beata Fanshaw
« on: Tuesday 19 June 07 18:13 BST (UK) »
Mira Monica Beata Lescher daughter of Count Joseph Francis Lescher married John Edward Fanshaw  in 1910 2nd Q Billericay 4a 863. They lived at Boyles Court Brentwood.
I am unable to find a death for either husband or wife or if they had children.
I have tried Freebmd & The Times.
Is anyone able to give me any further info.
Thank you Vesta

A quick web search throws up this site:

http://www.angelfire.com/realm/gotha/j1/h7.txt

search on the page for one of the unusual names (e.g. Beata) and you will find reference to this marriage, a death date for John Edward Fanshaw in 1943 and I think (from memory) one or more children, though for some reason the site has now frozen on me!

I don't know why that site keeps falling over every time it tries to load itself, but I've definitely gleaned from momentary access the following:

John Edward Fanshawe (15 Jan 1873 - 15 Apr 1943) m. 14 Apr 1910 Mira Monica Beata Lescher

It also had I think 3 children for them (and a marriage for at least one of the children) but I can't now get to that without it crashing.

Hmmm...so near and yet so far!  Perhaps it's a temporary glitch.

Anyway it looks from the site as though John Edward Fanshawe was descended from Henry VII.

Thank you Anna for your help. I have just had a go at the site you recommended but it collapsed on me.
I clicked on the address you gave & got hundreds of pages but could not find out quickly enough where to put in the name Beata before it went down.
I'll give it another go in a while.
Thanks Vesta

Well, I managed to get the document to open - it provides information on three children and a grandchild of this couple.  However, because some of these may be living people I will send you the information in a PM.

Some of the names, particularly the spouses of the two daughters of this couple, are Scottish, so you may need to be looking north of the border.

Have you got the info you wanted now? It should be fairly easy to find children of the marriage and the deaths from theFULL indexes, which are free to search at
http://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

This has probably got nothing to do with it but the surname Featherstonhaugh is pronounced as Fanshaw, might be worth trying that name.
