Vesta, you say you found nothing for this family in The Times - but I think you may have been looking under the wrong spelling of the name.  As per my earlier messages, it was FANSHAWE not FANSHAW.

The Times contains the following announcements (among hundreds):

Engagement of John and Mira: 7 Aug 1909

Marriage of John and Mira 14 Apr 1910 at Brentwood: 18 Apr 1910

Birth of a son on 30 May 1912 (at Edinburgh): 4 June 1912

Obituary of Mira's father Count Joseph Lescher: 9 Jan 1923

Death of John Edward Fanshawe on 15 Apr 1943 (at Edinburgh): 19 Apr 1943

So I think my hunch about needing to look north of the border might be right ;)

Also in The Times is an announcement of the engagement of the couple's daughter Mira to Lt-Col R.C.M. Monteith, 29 Mar 1950 - at which point Mira Monica Beata was apparently still alive and living at Moffat [Dumfries-shire].  The couple's marriage took place in Edinburgh on 21 July 1950 - Times announcement 25 July 1950.

The other daughter Althea's engagement was announced in The Times 6 May 1946 and took place at Moffat on 15 June that year - see notice of 21 June 1946.

I had found the Lescher obit. I will work on it again.

Anna
Just looked at www.scotlandspeople & putting in Fanshawe the only one applicable is John Edward Fanshawe. Deaths seem to finish at 1956. Do you know if that means we are unable to have info after that date or is it necessary to go to Scotland?

Vesta, here's a link to the Scottish GRO website explaining how to get (among other things) copies of certificates.

http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/famrec/hlpsrch/index.html

The fact that it is not within the dates covered by SP does not mean you can't have it.  Essentially if you can't get to New Register House to search the index you need to provide them with enough "identifying information" so that they can find it for you.  It may be that the Times had a death notice after that July 1950 date when she is apparently still alive (per daughter Mira's marriage announcement); otherwise you may need to inquire of the local newspaper covering Moffat to see whether there's a local obituary by which you can pin down sufficient details of the death.
