Hi Ronnie

"Any contact details for this historian?"

Maybe, she's over 80 now so I'll see if she's available.

I would like to pursue the Quin/n line to determine if Ann/e Ralph
Quin/n is mine.

Do you know if Ann/e and/or James died in Ireland?  According to Bren
they are named as the parents of Catherine on her marriage cert but that's
all she knows.

My Ann died 20/2/1897 aged approx 74, so born approx 1823, which
made her 33 when she had her first registered child here in Western Australia.

She travelled to Aus, maybe following her convict husband??

Anyway, I'll look forward to hearing anything that you can find.

Thanks,

Rozzy

Would your Ann Ralph be any relation to a Helen (Ellen) Ralph that married a John Robinson.  In the mid 1800s they were in Cloughjordan/Borrisokane, Tipperary.

Sorry not married to John Robinson that was one of their many children.  Helen (Ellen) Ralph was married to Michael Robinson.  John was born abt. 1834.

Hi Lesley

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about Ann/e RALPH except that she
had babies and a large family to ex convict Edward LANGRIDGE in Western Australia. There are no marriage details recorded.

It was not unusual for ex convicts to not marry, as they had often left
wives in England who could then not afford/not want to follow their transported
husbands.  Edward had a wife Susan and at least one child in England when
he was transported to Western Australia.

It's possible that Ann/e had also been married, but that's only based on her
age at the birth of her first child to Edward;  over 30, deduced from her age
given at death (74 at 1897).  She was possibly born mid 1820's.

There were so many women who arrived in the colony to even up the numbers, records were not kept well and/or were unreliable.

So I'm sorry I can't answer your question  :(

Good luck with your searching, if I happen to find anything more I
will let you know.

Rozzy
