how do i find death?

Hi, i have no experience with ox ancestry but my grandmas sister emigrated out there in the 1950s. I know their name and also the address where they lived and have verified this with electoral rolls. How do i go baout finding her death and obtaining a certificate?

The situation differs from state to state ...

Here is a list of the BDM registries in each state:

Perhaps you could say which state you are interested in?

hi thanks for your kind offers:

My ancestors are:
Edith and Horace Hines (Horace was known as Bob?)
Edith was born in 1898 in Rotherham, yorkshire, UK

They moved out to NSW i think in the early 1950s or thereabouts
the address i think off the top of my head was
59 Balaclave Road
Eastwood
Sydney

I have photos and correspondence from them

I think they had a number of daughters  -either that or they had a number of grandaughters...I would like to try to find anything out about any of them and particularly when edith died

Spelling would be Balaclava

There is a death record on the NSW online index for a Edith Eileen Hines in 1963 in Nth Sydney.  Father Robert Patterson, Mother Susan.

It may be a start.

I cannot see any Horace deaths under that spelling, but there are 2 others which are close
Horace Henry HINE  d.1975
Horace Hastings HIND d.1965
the parents names are listed.

yes iv seen the entry for edith eileen - the parents are wrong  -her parents back in england were james william and harriet fulford. Im not entirely sure when she emigrated but surely she would remember her parents names!

often people filling in the forms didn't know exactly who the deceased parents were!!

you say her parents were James William  was William his surname please
Also what about Bob's or Horace parents names

Good morning,

I have a problem in that I have to provide a Birth Certificate from Wexford IRE to establish the parentage of my GGrandfather who died in Brisbane Australia in 1906

Regrettably the records for that era were destroyed in the 1920s [advice from Dublin archives].
So, I cannot rectify an error in my GGrandfather's Death Certificate [which stated his own name as his father's name!] . 

Recent communication with the State Archives [Queensland] confirms that the Record of Birth does show the same father's name [his own] on the Certificate.

If you feel you have a solution to your problem you should contact the relevant State Archives.
