Thanks for looking. The William McCurdys in Griffith's are probably too early. Don't think the other ones fit but will make a note of them just in case.

Thanks Wendy but I have both versions of BVRI and no luck there. Have tried several McCurdy researchers and they can shed no light on him.

ahhh, I know how disappointing that can be!!!

My grama's famiy is like that you would figure searching in Ontario, would be easy....but, have gotten to the point have just nicknamed them the "mysterious McPherson's"....every fact I do find ends up turning to fiction! hahahhaha, even have what appears to be a "fake" marriage certificate from 1899!!!  For some reason, I just don't think they had "red" ink back then.... but, good luck in your search...never know when something will turn up when you least expect it!!!

Are your McPhersons from New Brunswick/Ireland by any chance?- I have a very, very large collection of McPherson data.

Good Morning Aghadowey,

My grt grandfather was John Duncan Mcpherson b. 22 Sep 1873, he died in Rockwood, Ontario Canada 2 Oct 1946.  Apparently he was of Scotch descent...with connections to Canada and the USA....but to be honest, information on this family is a nightmare....think they had many skeletons in the cupboard that they were trying to keep locked away!!!!  I dally with them once and a while...but get so frustrated that I usually end up putting them back on the shelf....And here in Canada, it is much harder to get records from the Government especially from 1900 to current day....much red tape to go thru and then the wait for a response is mind boggling....it took me almost a year to get a copy of JD's death certificate....and I ended up having to get a sworn affadavaite to prove I was related.....

Don't think he ties into McPhersons who settled in N.B. from Ireland. I've been fortunate most of my Canadian relatives lived in N.S. or N.B. although some did drift into Ontario, Sask. and B.C.

I have found a Rebecca McCurdy married to Edward Thompson 09 May 1870 in Carrick, Limavady whilst researching my lot.  Any help?

Thanks for the information Betty, Don't think it ties in to the William McCurdy I'm searching for but will make a note of it just in case.
