What or where is Cwm Alun?

In the 1851 census it states Catherine Thomas (her married name) was b c1806 in Cwmavon or cwmaron, Glamorgan. The 1861 census states she was born St Michael.

I've just looked up St Brides, Glam (where they were living in 1851/61) on GenUki and it lists  Cwm Alun (amongst others) as a place, village or farm in St Brides Major.

Does anyone know what or where Cwm Alun is/was?
