Wow this is wonderful! Bother, I have to go out & I want to be at home with this!

I think there was an error in transcribing from a family Bible. I think James' parents were John Weir and Marrion Black (spelt with 2 r's in some records) . I think agnes Liddell's Father was the Walter Weir for that twig of the Family Tree.

I found James in the IGIs in Barony b 5 May 1839 and Agnes' birth 22 Mar 1839 her parents being Walter weir and Agnes McCulloch.

I think we're on the right track now, sorry it has been a little confusing.

Doing research about my house and came across an article which may be of interest Ravenslea House is now named Kildarroch and is a beautiful security gated property overlooking St. Germains Loch on Drymen Road Bearsden.

"the villas of Ravenslea, Balgownie and Johnfield (later Kildarroch, Oakhurst and Lochside). Balgownie was the home of James Watson Stewart, a noted personality and Glasgow councillor."
