Egans Forge
« on: Friday 29 June 07 15:02 BST (UK) »
Can anyone please help.

In researching my family in Kilbeggan I discover Michael Egan had a blacksmiths forge on the Dublin Road near a dangerous bend in Tyrellspass  Westmeath.

I am trying to obtain a photograph of the forge.

Hiya Anthony,

Have you thought of contacting the Westmeath Library? I've contacted a couple of people who live in Westmeath. They're both on another website . Keep your fingers crossed that one posts a reply.

Hello Anthony,

I've posted a query about Eagans Forge on MySpace. A reply should come from one of the members on that site where I've many online musician friends, who between them, are travelling around Ireland on a regular basis.

Dear Christopher
Success  I wrote to Mullingar Library and was given the addresses of two people who might help me.  I wrote and after 6 months received a letter from Maree with details of the Egan family with photographs.

Its amazing how kind some folks can be .  This contact led me to a neighbour who has written to me and given more details.   So thank you again for your help.

Hi Anthony,

It's great to learn that you've got more details about Egan's Forge. Many thanks for posting the picture of Mick and May Egan with those big wheels.
