The BVRI certainly has a pairing of  William Connel and Janet Mcfarlane but the only child listed there is  :-

Robert CONNEL,
Birth Date: 7th March 1798   
Christening Date: 14th March 1798   
High Church , Paisley.
Father:   William CONNEL
Mother:   Janet MACFARLANE

Unfortunately there is no record of the marriage between William and janet

scotlandspeople confirms William and Janet's marriage, though a slightly different date.

They have 29 Oct 1797: William Connell and Janet MacFarlane in Paisley Middle Parish
