photo taken, no costs and with a digital!!  ;D

special thanks to hubby, I don't drive and when I mentioned the price Springvale were charging he actually offered to take me.   This is from a man who is not interested in family history whatsoever.
I live in the next suburb but public transport would mean my changing buses, yuk.

Easy enough to find - plaque states:

In Loving memory
William Rowlands
31st July 1970
age 62.

She was aged 35 on his death certificate in 1970, so doing the math, about 1935/36 depending on which month.

Good news Chatters!

I found out it was the daughter who organised the Dad's cremation & she had a married name. I looked up for her Christian initial & surname in white pages but none with her initial, so a wonderful lady from RAOGK is going to the library to look at the funeral notice in the hope it lists the son-in-law. Thanks for your help people.

Anyone else noticed a change in the Springvale Necropolis Web Site?

I had it in my favorites and it used to default to the apology screen.  Now it goes to a different screen with links to Melbourne and St. Kilda Cemetery.

NOW don't get tooooo excited   ;D  as nothing appears to work yet, but it is something.
