Census lookup

I am looking for info on Peter McInnes who was born in 1805 at Crieff and his younger brother Thomas McInnes, who was born in 1808 at Crieff.

If anyone can find them in the census records I would be grateful for the details.

Yes, they were John McInnes and Isabel Malcolm, who were married at Gask, Perthshire in 1794.

Lemme see what can find. Tho earliest is 1841 and Peter and borther may not be living at home then

Not finding anything on 1841 which would fit with the years of birth or place. Closest is 1802 Perthsire

That one shows a Peter McInnes aged 39 Living in Alyth. Other residents are Isabella aged 40 and Cathrine Rattray aged 68. Peter was a mason.

Not finding a Thomas born in Perthsire around the 1808 mark at all.

Well I suppose Alyth isn't too far from Crieff and given the inaccuracies of the ages given in the 1841 census I would not rule out the Peter McInnes that you have found.  I will keep his info in my d/base in the hope that more details come to light.

Pity about Thomas - I guess he could have died in infancy or moved out of the area.

another possible thing worth trying is the death section in Scotland's People but these are only available post 1855 and you'd really need to know where they lived. Is worth a try and would show if Peter married or not.

Same thing with Thomas tho if not on census would appear he did die pre 1841.
