The only marriage I can find pre daughter mary being born (William's name transcribed Maxcey
Dec qtr 1856
Abergavenny
on same page
William Maxcey
Sarah Jenkins
11a 177

There is a Sarah jenkins in 1851 of correct age in Mynyddyslwn (in fact-I think she's entered twice on same census!)
One of her brothers is called Daniel (same as Wiliam/sarah's son??)
Sarah Jenkins gran was b. Bedwellty - so there are a few connections????

Have to go out now -if you require details of census with Sarah Jenkins on please ask and I will post later this evening

Hi Suz

Thanks again for your help.    Sarah Maxey gave her place of birth on the 81C as Tregaron, Cardiganshire; on the 61C  it was Aberystwyth, so it would be interesting to see the 51C details for Sarah Jenkins.

Can someone please help in finding the Maxey family below on the 1871 census.  Possibly in Brithdir Hamlet, Gelligaer.

81C details
William Maxey, aged 44, Coal Miner, b. Bedwellty
Sarah Maxey, wife, 45, b. Tregaron, Cardiganshire
Eliza Jane Maxey, daug, 17, b. Mynyddislwyn
David Maxey, son, 11, b. Bedwellty
Amelia Maxey, daug, 8, b. Gelligaer

a great result, thanks to all involved...........Completed
