Burial Records

A question about burial records.

I have a George C Stearn who died in 1961, in the district of Cambridge.  He was 78.

How do I find out where he was buried?

Many thanks

Anne

I don't think there is any easy way to do this.

The Registration district covers a large are, so if you get the  death certificate that  will tell you where he died. You can then try the the local authority bereavement services to see if they have a record. Alternatively, you could try the local newspaper for the area, there may well have been a death announcement, these usually state the name and address of the undertaker, and or the place of the funeral or cremation.

Someone else may give you some other ideas to follow.
