Mary Ann Blackburn was baptised in Almondbury on 21 Feb 1830, daughter of George, a weaver & Mary Ann. Their abode is given as Newsome.

There's another Mary Ann Blackburn baptised in Almondbury 17 April 1825, d/o Grace, but, from the information you gave, it looks as if the first one is yours.

There's an Allen Sykes baptised in Almondbury on 18 May 1823, s/o Benjamin, a clothier & Mary (nee Farrand). Their abode is given as Netherton.

Thanks for the information.  Mary Ann Blackburn married Allen Sykes 6 July 1851 at Almondbury of which where the names and family I had stated. 
For Allen Sykes parents have at the moment got Benjamin born 1801 Almondbury married to Mary Wimmpenny 25th April 1819 so I will have a look at Mary Farrand you have given me.  I have got Allen Sykes born 1823 Mary Ann Blackburn born 1830 and Ann Sykes born 1860 Allen Sykes born 1862 Alfred Sykes born 1871 and George Blackburn Sykes all on the 1881 census but having difficulty finding them on the census.
This is my Mum's side of the family and she was Mary Jane Wilson (who did not know who her father was and I have her birth certificate) daughter of Mary Ann Wilson and on her birth certificate which is the small one no parnets names on and her name is Mary Ann Wilson Whitham but always went as Mary Ann (Polly) Wilson. 
Mary Jane Sykes born Christened 24th October 1858 Almondbury and I have her Death Certificate 31st May 1939 a widow and her husbands name as Pharaoh Whitham but on her daughter Bessie Wilson marriage certificate which I have got her fathers name is Pharaoh Wilson.   I have known some of the family were Whitham and some Wilson but at the moment unable to find any marriage certificates for Mary Jane Sykes.

there is a mary jane whitham on 1901 census age  given as 41. she has children,edith, harriet, bessie,polly,charlie,allan. only the first two are named whitham the others are named gill.i will give you the full census if you want me to.

Hello Relative  My gr, gr, grandparents were also Allen and Mary Ann Sykes.  Gr grandfather Benjamin (b 1855) and grandfather Allen (b 1890).  Hope you don’t mind me contacting you but your message came up when I was searching google.  So many Sykes around Halifax/Huddersfield area it is very difficult work!
