The Church of St. John the Baptist, Clonoulty, County Tipperary
« on: Saturday 07 July 07 12:28 BST (UK) »
I am a little confused.  My grandfather Carrick's baptism record states he was baptized in 1858 but when I found a picture of the church on the internet it said the church was built in 1877.  Can anyone clear this up for me.  I have never done this chat thing before so let me know if I did this wrong!  Thank you.  AmyD

There are two Churches in Clonoulty perhaps you have the wrong one. The Catholic one is huge and the Protestant one is small and surrounded by lots of graves. I am not sure if it is still used. Was he Protestant or Catholic?
 Regards.
