I'd say this is most likely it. It was not uncommon for the address to be the house name. Have you checked the census?

Maryville Cottage, Sandy Lane, Locharbriggs.

If you decide it is I can see if it's there and take a photo for you.

Are you able to add the certificate as an attachment? That way photo viewing programs can enlarge all the details.

Have just returned from a zip around the corner and Maryville Cottage is still there and has it's name on the front fence. It's only 2 minutes from where I'm staying. It looks abandoned.

Greenbrae, a village in Dumfries parish, Dumfriesshire, contiguous to Stoop Village 1 mile ENE of Dumfries town. Population together with Stoop (1891) 743.

Have them on the 1891 census, but can't find them on the 1901.
