Flooding - Silvertown?
« on: Sunday 08 July 07 11:28 BST (UK) »
Would anyone know any dates for flooding in Silvertown, then County Borough of West Ham,  between 1920 and 1939?
My late uncle remembers rescuing several horses, who might otherwise have drowned, from a flooded stable.
I would like to know more.
Could ask Archives and Local Studies, Stratford, I know, but thought I would pick your brains first... :-*

The Times only makes a passing remark about the "recent flooding at Silvertown on the 6-7 January " 1928 in a report about the Thames flooding in the March of that year. Perhaps this is the one that you are looking for?
