Hi Deb,
hope I didn't give you a bum steer, but you won't find Abraham or Elizabeth in 1861. They were in Australia by then. Abraham arrived with his brothers in April '55 aboard the Gipsy Queen and Elizabeth followed 18 months later, arriving September 1856, with Elizabeth Ann, their only daughter (b: 1853, St Agnes) and other female family members, including Abraham's mother Jane, aboard the Morning Light.
I should have mentioned that in my original post, sorry to put you to unnecessary work.
This is the census entry 1851:
HO107/1915 Folio: 199 Page: 38
Foundry Row
Redruth
GEORGE Jane Head W F 43 b St Agnes Miners Widow [c1808]
GEORGE Isaac Son U 23 b St Agnes Tin & Copper Miner [c1828]
GEORGE Abraham Son U 16 b St Agnes Tin & Copper Miner [c1835]
GEORGE Thomas Son 14 b St Agnes Tin & Copper Miner [c1837
GEORGE Mary Ann Dau 12 b St Agnes [c1839]
GEORGE Susan 7 b St Agnes [1844]
And Elizabeth is then:
HO107/1915 Folio: 303 Page: 62
Roach's Row, Plain an Gwarry
Redruth
COCK Margaret Head W 67 b Redruth [c1794]
POLLARD Elizabeth Ann G/dau U 16 b Redruth Tailoress [c1835]
There is also a birth registered for:
Births Mar 1/4 1854 Redruth
GEORGE Margretta Redruth 5c 286
probably named for her maternal grandmother, but I can't find any mention of her in Australia.
Sorry again, but what I'm really chasing is Elizabeth Ann Pollard/Cock's parents, and what happened to them, and any antecedents.
I feel such a goose.
