Lost in Gloucestershire?
« on: Saturday 11 December 04 11:45 GMT (UK) »
Missing ancestor from Gloucestershire? Can find a baptism or burial? Here is some useful info that should be remembered when searching for ancestors in Gloucestershire.

There are two Donningtons, two Eastingtons, two Prestons and two Stauntons which are, or have been part of Gloucestershire; plus a "modern" parish of Kingswood, formed from Bitton in 1821, in addition to the Kingswood near Wooton under Edge. The latter used to be a detached portion of Wiltshire, and was transferred to Gloucestershire in 1844.

Does anyone have any info on contiguous parishes?
