Yes you could be right I wonder could he have died in Carlisle my G.Grandmother Mary Sewell formally Douglas was his sister
and she was living Botchergate carlisle but its just a thought cant think where else he might of been

I have to own up and say the age on the 1871 census was a typing error it should have read 39 not 29 - I have already modified it for you.

thanks I have made a note of that and as soon as I can sort this PC out I will send for it My son bought me windows vista for my birthday  said it will make things easier for me ,I am tearing my hair out as its blocking Scotlands people site and non of my Cd's work on it .I have to put up with it until he comes back in two weeks so I am stuck
