Help re Mathers Please
« on: Friday 13 July 07 21:03 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I'm looking for information re John Mathers and his wife Florence (nee Wykes) in particular his date of birth (possibly 1882)  and their dates of death.

They were married in 1907, East Belfast.

Their address was 80 Roslyn Street, Belfast from 1918, but after 1945 she is the resident there until at least 1954.

Will appreciate your help with this.

Regards,  Kathleen

Going through old posts and found this one - have you already found the information on this family that you were looking for earlier? Since then lots of Irish resources have come online.

John and Florence Mather are in 1911 census- his age give as 24 so prossibly born c1887 rather than 1882. Also says married 2 years (c1909) not 1907.
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Antrim/St__George_s/Clementine_Street/162218

The civil registration index has a marriage listed for John Mathers Jan./Mar.1909 Belfast registration district volume 1 page 191
On the same page is Edith Florence Mabel Wykes.
Births for Elsie Kathleen Mathers registered Jan./Mar.1910 and John Sanford Mathers Jan./Mar.1911.
Unfortunately the civil registration index only goes up to 1921 for Northern Ireland counties.

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
