Quaker families in Hammersmith - PERRYER
« on: Saturday 14 July 07 15:14 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any info concerning the PERRYER (PERYER) family who were Quakers in Hammersmith. Michael was the caretaker of the Friends Meeting House in the 1891 census. His daughter (then aged 2), Margaret, born in 1888 or 1889,  died in Fulham in 1975, was my Grandmother. She married Christopher LANCASTER in 1911 in the Meeting House. Christopher was Mayor of Fulham in 1936.
Many thanks!

freebmd shows Michael Peryer, married 1869, possibly to Emily Divall.  Is this the same family who can be seen at www.familysearch.org in 1881, Michael and Emily Perryer?

Here they are in 1871:

RG10/853 33/20
Logwood Mills Cottages, Mitcham, Surrey
Michael Peryer, 24, head, plate-layer on the railroad, b. Rudgewick Sussex
Emily, 23, wife, b. Nutfield Surrey
Clarissa, 1, dau, b. Mitcham (freebmd shows a Clarisse Peryer, aged 6, died in Fulham district in 1875 - presumably the same girl).
Harry, 4M, son, b. Mitcham
Alice Divall, 18, sister, b. Nutfield.

1861, Peryer family:
RG9/610 7/8
Pinethers(?), Rudgwick
Thomas Peryer, head, widower, ag Lab, 52, b. Surrey Eg?????
Geo Waller, son in law, married, ag lab, 27, b. Rudgwick
Maria Waller, dau, married, 26, b. dit
George Waller, grandson, 5, b. dit
Thomas Peryer, son, 17, ag lab b. dit
Michael Peryer, son, 14, ag lab b. dit

Yes, there the ones! I looked on  FreeBMD, but couldn't find them....  Many thanks for your help - it'll definitely help me get further.

They seem to use 'Peryer' and 'Perryer' both and names change, ie. I just found Clarisse's birth also, and she was 'Claris Perryer'!  Perhaps they might be found under other misspellings (Perrier/Perrior?)

thank you again - one of my Aunts - a daughter of Margaret Perryer - was called Clarice - now I know why!
Could you give me the date of Claris' birth please?
