1831 and 1841 census details please Iden
« on: Tuesday 17 July 07 11:48 BST (UK) »
Frederick James Furner married Ann Deeprose on 12 June 1828 in Kent. Their first child was christened in Iden in 1829 and the rest of the children were also.  I have been told they were living in Iden Street in 1841, whereabouts unknown in 1831.

Thanks

Grant H

Has anyone found them in 1851?   I can find Mercy but am not having any luck with Frederick and family.  It is quite a common name in the area and trying to decide whether it is Kent or Sussex does not help!
There are some 1831 census returns surviving but not Iden as far as I know.  Mostly they were just a list of households without individual names from 1811 - 31 but some very lucky parishes have fuller records.  www.sfhg.org.uk lists them, where they have transcribed them, on their publications list.

Hi everyone

Thanks for the information.  You will not find Frederick and his family in the 1851 census as they moved to Australia in 1842.  James and Mercy are Frederick's parents.  In the census is there an address in Iden Street?

Thanks again

Hello everone

Thanks again.  As I said in my previous post on one side was his parents and on the other is his brother's family.  This is amazing finding where two siblings and parents were living.  sillgen, you mention you have found Mercy in 1851, could you give me the details.  Her husband died in 1844.

Thanks

Grant H
