Exley, Robert Inkerman
« on: Thursday 19 July 07 00:27 BST (UK) »
I am very new here so not sure what I'm doing!

I have a Robert Inkerman Exley, born 1855, Wortley, Leeds in my tree and I cannot trace him after the 1871 census.  I know he died before 1896 but can find no reference on BMD records.  Any suggestions please.

Welcome to RootsChat, you are doing fine.
it is a good idea to post what information you have -parents, siblings - sometims it is easier to trace them through family ...
having said that, I think we've found him!

Is this him (as you found him)in 1871?

I have letters reference a Will for a Mrs Broughton (his aunt) one of which states he had died "of full age and after Mrs Broughton".  That is aged 21+ and after 1872.  The letter is dated 1897.  I have found what happened to his parents and siblings.  Only one sister lived a long life.
