Yes, John & Jemima had 12 children bet 1796 and 1819 all bap at Willoughby, which they used as an overwintering base. Also I suspect in those days because of the poor laws it was important to belong to a parish. After this time they moved all over the place. John & Jemima are my 4 x gt grandparents.

The romany lines are v difficult to trace pre 1800, esp when parties are not often id in the par reg by occupation. J & J may not even have formally married, but the date of this one certainly fits.

I have already looked at Willoughby parish records (using my local Family History Centre) quite a while ago for J & J's children, also checking for J & J's poss births there. But I didn't really check widely around 1770 - I have reason to bel his birth is actually c 1763/4. I have to wait til Sept when the centre reopens to recheck.

Many thanks for your help

Mike,

The dambusters never practiced on Lady Bower as the dam there wasn't formed at the time of WW2.  The 633 squadron used Derwent water which  is a few miles down the road.
