hello , re your william brown m margaret mclaren  26 nov 1861.

do you have the parents of margaret mclaren?

to explain , i think margaret mclaren may be the daughter of Archibald Mclaren and Catherine Buchanan. you also have a catherine buchanan listed being born in 1869.
Archibald Mclaren died at Killearn on 29th June 1878 , his parents were Archibald Mclaren and Margaret King from Balquidder (their daughter catharine is my ancestor)

just a coincidence or maybe?  gordon

re your William Brown marrying a Margaret McLaren 26th Nov 1861.

have a booklet sent to me today from the clan mclaren society (Migrating McLarens)and can confirm that Margaret's parents were Archibald Mclaren (born4th Nov 1804)and Catherine Buchanan   from Kippen, they were married on 8th December 1833.  Archibald was a quarrymaster in Killearn.
Archibald's parents were Archibald McLaren and Margaret King , married 14th Jan 1797 , at Balquidder. This couple (1797) were my g/g/g/g grandparents.
