Times Digital Archive COMPLETED THANK YOU
« on: Friday 20 July 07 16:34 BST (UK) »
Hi

I know this is probably silly question of the week  ;D, but how can I access the Kent Digital Archives?

Do I need an ordinary library card?  I've just tried to get in using my son's card but I was denied access!!

Help!!!!!!!!!!

If you are referring to the Medway PR's on City Ark. There is no registration required, just go on to the site and search to your hearts content.

I know the feeling, I get like that too. ;D ;D ;D

You can access The Times  Digital Archive by registering with Bedfordshire  Virtual Libraray, it is quite free.

I don't know if access is limited to adult tickets, but I have never had a problem - just enter your ticket number (including the initial letter, in upper case) and you should be able to get in.  Of course, if you are trying to access the records through the Kent libraries site, you must have a Kent library card.

I don't know about mobile library cards - I'm surprised they are different.

Medway is a unitary authority so may not be part of Kent libraries.

I'm amazed at the number of my relatives that went bankrupt in the 1830s-50s?  Were times very hard? I don't think going  bankrupt was an easy way out of money problems as you could end up in debtor's prison.
