    that is a lovely Albert, my granddad had one just like it.
It was red gold 18ct and on it he wore the medal he got for saving the life of a stevedore. :) :)

     FYI : an Albert was a chain worn on a gentleman's waistcoat, named after the Prince Consort.

Just found this from Mudge, so thought I'd explain/answer him.

I think you might have had too much wine, Mudge  ;D

The first comment referred to an earlier posting that I made about OR giving Scouse all the facts. The second comment was about the 'Albert' - the medal like  piece on the man's watch chain.
