Hello  there

the index show Leila Parkinson died  1940 aged  66  parents daniel mcleod and selina unknown  reg no 15270

You could purchase and download her death certificate for around $20.00 from  the Victorian BDM's BUT  you  don't know if it will give you any further information

Hi Enid,

Quote
Do you think I should get the death cert? for William 1918 William was buried in bairnsdale cemetery on 1may 1918 it state he was from bruthen a laborer age 69yrs in the Roman catholic compartment.

Does it give his marriage details? does it list his children?
(I know some deaths in hospitals do not always record this information)
Is the grandson certain it is him? does he have personal knowledge from other family members about the 1918 burial of William?   Is there anyone buried with him?

Since the purpose of your post is to find out about William, it is not much use getting his wife's death certificate to find out about his marriage - especially after she has had a few more marriages - depends who the informant is, and even their own kids do not manage to get the details right all the time!  And anyway, they would have been told the same as what is on the birth certificates!

But Enid, you PMed me the complete reference for William's death and I posted it earlier so others would know!  I am beginning to wonder if you are having a lend of us  ;D

He died 1918, aged 69, parents unknown, Bairnsdale, Vic
reg number:3646

The cheapest way to get a Victorian certificate is to download it from the Vic BDM web site - I think they are still $17.50.  I doublechecked your info and the ref number is correct.

hello  there

if you read the postings you will see that Christine jokingly said  you were having a lend of us

I don't know  that the death certificate will  give you anything cause it doesn't even appear to list his parents.

And please tell me does it say B R U T H E N  as his place of birth  where??????????

regards jenn
