John Paterson

I have been trying to find out the parents of John Paterson for some time,and today when I got a look at the poor relifef records for him it had the nane of his parents. My problem now is I can not find a marriage for his parents.John was born abt 1849/50 in neilston Renfrewshire to George paterson and Margaret Devaney.I would appreciate any help with this little problem.I have john and his mother on the 1851 cencus staying as lodgers in main street in the parish of Eastwood Renfrewshire.His mother was born abt 1827 in Neilson Renfrewshire But can not find a birth for her.
