need a light please on my family
« on: Wednesday 25 July 07 22:12 BST (UK) »
Right I have a very messy family here and would like  someone or everyone to try and sort them  out.

Emily Gibbins married George Wibberley 1876 in Parwich, Derbyshire  he was age 20 and father named as William and she was 18 and father Thomas.

Now the Gibbins part is as I expected and no surprises but trying to sort out her hubby and what happened to them is my prob.

George should have been born abt 1856 according to marriage but looking on census I couldn't  find one born around that age and with father William...the only one that came close was George Wibberley b. 1860 to parents William and Jane and he was born in Longford. George had two sets of twin brothers and one  sister too (all older than   him) (This would make him only 16 at time  of marriage!!)
On the 1881 I couldn't find my Emily  with George but I did find Emily with dau Elizabeth (age 3) living with Jonah Wibberley and his wife. Now Jonah happens to be one of the twin brothers of George  who has parents Wm and Jane. On  the census listing it states that Emily is just a visitor and that she is married.
Could George have emigrated and Emily Followed??? Any clues on how to check that out. I can't find Emily or George on any English census

So what do you think... is George  the same George that had parents Wm  and Jane and then lied about age  for marriage??

How can I find out if they emigrated  ...or can someone check that for me???

Hopefully some bright spark out there  can set me straight.

please help if you can

Angela.

Ahhh Heather you have come  to my rescue again.

Well this is very interesting looks like she married George in  1890  so at least I have her coming together...could you find her  in  1901 if its not too much trouble.

Thanks a million going to check for a death of George now.

All the best  and Thanks a million

Angela

Odd ...

Tom Gibbins Wibberley baptised Hucknall Torkard St Mary 26/12/1885 to John and Emily, father's profession miner

Mis-transcription or George otherwise known as John?

You're welcome btw :)

:o   now theres a problem..just when things were coming together..how weird.

Could be mis transcription but maybe she married a John Wibberley after George and then married George Woollis!!!.... Will have to check that out too.
Don't know if i'll ever get to the bottom  of George Wibberley now...there is such a gap between Elizabeth and Thomas that maybe she did have another wibberley inbetween. This is  a messy branch!!  Will have to get someone to look  up that entry for me thanks a million for finding it for me though its another piece in  the Jigsaw.
